The Beautiful Tree Foundation is a not-for-profit Section-8 Company dedicated to reviving education by drawing inspiration from Bharat’s enduring educational wisdom while responding to contemporary needs.
Our name is inspired by Dharampal's seminal work The Beautiful Tree which documents the rich, widespread and community-driven and supported education system that flourished across Bharat before the colonial rulers systematically demolished it. It reminds us that education in Bharat was once deeply rooted in society, accessible to all, connected to life and committed to the holistic development of every learner.
We want to break the belief that education is merely the transmission of information or preparation for employment. We intend to establish that education is the process through which individuals discover their innate potential, develop character and competence, cultivate wisdom and responsibility and contribute meaningfully to their families, communities and the nation.
The Beautiful Tree Foundation works to empower educators and learners, support educational institutions and Self Help Groups by promoting learner-centred education, advancing skill development, fostering research and curriculum innovation and creating wholesome ecosystems by encouraging meaningful collaboration between educational institutions, industry and the society.
